SUMMARY

This position will be responsible for the proper cleaning, detailing and care of the exterior and interior of company aircraft, equipment and hangar facilities.  Additionally, this position will assist the aircraft maintenance team with the maintenance and repairs of the company aircraft, GSE, facilities and provide aircraft departure and arrival support.  The person serving in this position will report to the Maintenance Manager and work in a team environment to ensure the aircraft, facilities and GSE are properly cleaned and maintained with quality and safety being paramount.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Perform cleaning, detailing and care of company aircraft.
  2. Maintain GSE, facilities and other tolling/equipment in good working order.
  3. Provide aircraft departure and arrival support.
  4. Assist the aircraft maintenance team with inspections, repairs and care of Company aircraft.
  5. Willingness and ability to work varying hours and shifts, days/nights, weekends, holidays, etc.

 

 

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 2+ years of mechanic experience required
  • Must possess a valid FAA Airframe and Powerplant certificate
  • Must own a complete set of basic hand tools

 

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Basic computer skills
  • Experience moving/towing aircraft
  • Prior experience in an aircraft maintenance environment or FBO line services.

POSITION INFORMATION
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
– Pilot Intern supports Flight Operations Departments as assigned
– Conducting Navigational Data Integrity Checks
– Tracking Auxiliary Power Unit (APU) and Preconditioned Air (PCA) Unit fuel consumption
– Organizing and managing airport data for the Runway Awareness Advisory System (RAAS)
– Working with ETOPS flight plans and O-53 assignments
– Contacting individuals through email/phone calls
– Collecting ETOPS data and creating excel spreadsheets and produce reports
– Review fuel consumption and factors related to fuel burn rate
– Assist with Class II Navigational Compliance for plotting charts and flight plans
– Assisting in coordinating RNP validation and demonstration flights
– Documenting changes to navigational charts
– Organizing and analyzing arrival and departure data for use in Required Navigational Performance (RNP) procedure design
– Updating navigational chart binders and company manuals
– Verifying 10-7 airport information
– Assist with engineering projects related to weight/balance or performance analysis
– Assist with filing, updating manuals, or other documents/materials
– Assist with pilot training development
– Observe pilot/flight deck operations through jumpseat/simulator
– Attend various meetings and assist with pilot training classes/materials
– Research and provide information to aid in making accurate decisions and/or providing information to others
– Other duties as assigned

Purpose of Internship
The objective of this unpaid internship is to enhance the student’s preparation for
a professional aviation career through the student’s participation in the Flight
Operations Internship Program at Pinnacle Airlines. Interns will be exposed to all
segments of the Flight Operations department and will have a solid

Internships are available each semester in a number of different areas of work from flight operations to maintenance, human resources, and customer service and operation control. The interns will be exposed to regulatory compliance of a FAR 121 airline, gain knowledge of policies and procedures of airline operations and be invited to participate in routine management decisions.

 

Students must attend colleges and/or universities who have approved internship programs with our airline offering course credits for the semester internship.  Western Michigan University qualifies as an approved program.

WMU Post-Graduation Activity Report 2011-12

General Information:

The most frequent method of finding full-time employment was networking (49%), followed by a WMU career fair (20%), and employer websites (19%).

WMU graduates reported employment in 41 U.S. states. The most common state of employment was Michigan (74%), followed by Illinois (7%), Indiana (2.4%), Florida (1.4%), California (1.13%), Ohio (1%), New York (1%), and North Carolina (0.80%). Almost 2% of respondents reported employment outside the United States.
Overall, the most commonly reported salary range was $40,000-$45,000 (13%; N=150), followed by $35,000-$40,000 (12.5%, N=147), and $50,000-$55,000 (10%; N=122).

Internship Completion: Overall, 43% (N=1,188) of respondents completed an internship while at WMU. Of those reporting full-time employment, 60% had an internship prior to graduation.

Continuing Education: 14.25% of respondents are continuing education.

 68% (N=264) are pursuing master’s degrees, 22% (N=86) doctoral degrees, 4% (N=16) bachelor’s degrees, 4% (N=16) certificate programs, and 2% (N=7) specialist programs.
 46% (N=178) of respondents are continuing education at WMU, while the remaining 54% are pursuing additional education at 84 institutions.

2013-2014 Wings Financial Scholarships (Due: February 28, 2013)

Wings Financial is proud to help outstanding members with the costs of higher education each year through our scholarship programs. 2013 scholarship applications are now available on the Wings Web Site and on InSite. Wings require applicants to be primary members of Wings Financial as well as meeting the criteria for each scholarship.

  • 2013-2014 Wings Financial Scholarships 
    Each year, Wings Financial awards four $4,000 scholarships, payable over two years, to outstanding members nationwide.
  • 2013  Donald R. Wahlund Memorial Scholarship
    The Donald R. Wahlund Memorial Scholarship is a single, $5,000 scholarship open to Wings Financial members who are students at Minneapolis, Minnesota, public high schools and will be attending an accredited college or university.
  • 2013 Paul Soderlind Memorial Scholarship
    The Paul Soderlind Memorial Scholarship is not funded by Wings, but is administered by our Scholarship Committee. It is open to former Northwest Airlines employees or eligible relatives of former Northwest Airlines employees. In 2013, two $5,000 scholarships will be awarded.

Position Description

CIT Aerospace is seeking a highly talented individual to support the Sales/Marketing team. The intern position is an exciting opportunity to gain aircraft leasing/financing industry exposure via one of the world¡¦s leading aircraft leasing organizations.

 

Daily responsibilities may include:

„h Supporting the Marketing Team

Major Duties (but not limited to):

h Assist fleet mechanics in scheduled and non-scheduled inspection and repair of flight training aircraft.
