POSITION INFORMATION
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
– Pilot Intern supports Flight Operations Departments as assigned
– Conducting Navigational Data Integrity Checks
– Tracking Auxiliary Power Unit (APU) and Preconditioned Air (PCA) Unit fuel consumption
– Organizing and managing airport data for the Runway Awareness Advisory System (RAAS)
– Working with ETOPS flight plans and O-53 assignments
– Contacting individuals through email/phone calls
– Collecting ETOPS data and creating excel spreadsheets and produce reports
– Review fuel consumption and factors related to fuel burn rate
– Assist with Class II Navigational Compliance for plotting charts and flight plans
– Assisting in coordinating RNP validation and demonstration flights
– Documenting changes to navigational charts
– Organizing and analyzing arrival and departure data for use in Required Navigational Performance (RNP) procedure design
– Updating navigational chart binders and company manuals
– Verifying 10-7 airport information
– Assist with engineering projects related to weight/balance or performance analysis
– Assist with filing, updating manuals, or other documents/materials
– Assist with pilot training development
– Observe pilot/flight deck operations through jumpseat/simulator
– Attend various meetings and assist with pilot training classes/materials
– Research and provide information to aid in making accurate decisions and/or providing information to others
– Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS
– High school diploma or equivalent required
– Must be at least 18 years old
– Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
– Pilot background (pursuing degree in aviation field with pilot component) required
– Self-motivated, dependable and enthusiastic preferred
– Strong written and oral communication skills preferred
– Strong organizational skills preferred

Purpose of Internship
The objective of this unpaid internship is to enhance the student’s preparation for
a professional aviation career through the student’s participation in the Flight
Operations Internship Program at Pinnacle Airlines. Interns will be exposed to all
segments of the Flight Operations department and will have a solid
understanding of Flight Operations upon successful completion of the internship.

Internships are available each semester in a number of different areas of work from flight operations to maintenance, human resources, and customer service and operation control. The interns will be exposed to regulatory compliance of a FAR 121 airline, gain knowledge of policies and procedures of airline operations and be invited to participate in routine management decisions.

 

Students must attend colleges and/or universities who have approved internship programs with our airline offering course credits for the semester internship.  Western Michigan University qualifies as an approved program.

Position Location and Duration

This position is based in the Fort Lauderdale, Florida office of CIT Aerospace. Duration of the internship shall be at least fourteen (14) weeks between January 7 and April 26, 2013.

 

Position Description

CIT Aerospace is seeking a highly talented individual to support the Sales/Marketing team. The intern position is an exciting opportunity to gain aircraft leasing/financing industry exposure via one of the world¡¦s leading aircraft leasing organizations.

 

Daily responsibilities may include:

„h Supporting the Marketing Team

ƒÁ Various research projects analyzing market trends, regional markets and

developments

ƒÁ Different types of analyses such as business plan, target market, and aircraft

portfolios through various primary and secondary sources

„h Produce Visit Packs

ƒÁ Provide VP with relevant information about the customer prior to VP¡¦s visit/call

„h Take minutes from Marketing Calls

Required Skills

The ideal candidate shall be pursuing or have attained a Bachelor’s degree or higher in

Business although other aviation centric majors will be considered. The candidate should have

familiarity and understanding of the commercial aviation industry. In addition, the candidate

should have:

„h Ability to manage numerous time-sensitive projects in addition to everyday duties

„h Capable of gathering, analyzing, interpreting and summarizing data

h Assist fleet mechanics in scheduled and non-scheduled inspection and repair of flight training aircraft.

Here is your chance to spend a week with the people at UTFlight, the continuously operated flight department for United Technologies Corporation since 1928. Room, board and transportation to Hartford, Connecticut will be paid for by UTFlight.

Immerse yourself in the culture and teamwork of UTFlight as you witness the inner workings of our flight department in several different functional areas including finance, dispatch, maintenance, and flight operations. Spend quality time networking with, interviewing, and job shadowing key personnel within the different departments. Gain additional perspective and insight as you meet with executives and ride along on a trip (conditions permitting).
